The role of the NPM-ALK / PD-1 axis for immune response to T cell lymphoma

Project Summary

This Project focuses on the signal transduction from NPM-ALK to Programmed death Receptor-1 (PD-1) in anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL). We will characterize the role of the NPM-ALK/ PD-1 axis for tumorigenicity of the ALCL, the immune escape and immune metabolism.  Using cell-based and in vivo transplantation mouse model, we will evaluate the complex interplay between the NPM-ALK oncogene and PD-1 signalling for immune escape and immune response to Immune checkpoint blockade in ALCL. With translational approaches, we will investigate the impact of the PD-(L)1 expression status for primary ALCL patient samples.
